The Story Behind the Sound

Fire Has a Sound

In the valleys of Oaxaca, the making of mezcal has always been accompanied by sound. The crack of mesquite wood catching flame in the roasting pit. The slow rhythm of the tahona wheel grinding roasted piña into pulp. The low hum of wild fermentation beginning its invisible work in open-air wooden vats.

Mezcal is not made in silence. It is made in community — with family working alongside family, with songs passed down the same way recipes are, with laughter and reverence sharing the same breath.

Victorioso is our attempt to give that world a voice beyond the glass. Performed by Mariachi Celito Lindo, this piece carries the heat of the pit, the patience of the harvest, and the warmth of a mezcal shared between people who mean something to each other.

It is the sound of where we come from.
